Même, the play in which each element is repeated at least once...
Même underlines the uncertainty of evidence itself and questions the identity of everyone. The actors, vocalists, dancers and musicians in Même, take great pleasure in creating repetitive, experimental loops representing grotesque examples of neurosis. But since identity itself remains an unattainable utopia and because it is not easy to reproduce the same, the dialogues, the lyrics, the music and the gestures are replicated in a sort of bungling mischievousness which creates a tragicomic chain of information. Thus, starting points are liable to drift gradually towards points of arrival that no-one could have expected. Through a whole string of erroneous duplications the same can be transformed into its opposite … or into its self.
