Micro

Micro is a kind of physical concert, a microscopic opera that stages pre-musical creatures. They appear little by little out of a swaying instrumental landscape. Like audible haemoglobin, electricity invades space and connects the elements together. In a carnal hand-to-hand with the instruments, these absurd monsters transform little by little and search, like hunting dogs, the sounds they can feed on. The teenage energy of rock slowly catches up with the performing beasts. Convulsive, funny or diabolical, the transe takes them on a trip flirting with musical boundaries. On their way they encounter a few soft balades to calm them down and delay their definite over voltage. Their mythology is down to earth, raw, technical or organic and also full of humour and poetry. Micro tells how body and music interact, how the vibrations in the air and those of the flesh connect to each other. The human being is a musical animal, the rocker is a musical monster.

Micro is a dynamic experience that tries to apprehend the poetical nuances of a rock concert and which gives to hear but also to see the music through the physicality of the performers. It’s by working through movement and space constraints that Pierre Rigal makes his musician-actor-dancer partners compose a playful, romantic, raging or distressing music. This “pre-post-rock” becomes the fruit of this spread energy and Pierre Rigal, just like Alice in her wonderland, become its physical operator.
