Paradis Lapsus is a danced theatrical piece about these ideas : that pushing a slip of the tongue to its paroxysm can create blissful poetry, that complete incomprehension can bring to a form of serenity, of letting go. Paradise, of all places, is where you can make mistakes. And where mistakes are without consequence. Mistakes are better than any accuracy…The piece stages two characters, two dancers, a man and a woman. They have great difficulty to communicate with each other. Their voices aren’t their own. A bizarre play-back, mischievous and sometimes perverse has taken over the oral organ of our protagonists. The absurd conversations take over the true thoughts of this couple who is devoid of any rational and sincere expression. A third character, a singing storyteller will reveal by its presence, the true feelings of these lovers lost in their facade convolutions. She will tell us what really lies in their hearts and what is lost to their mouths. Maybe she’s doing this to try and put the pieces of this relationship made of chassé-croisé and misunderstandings back together. Choreography and verbal slips will propagate, will fuse into a slippy stumbling dance. Nonsense and stunts are at the service of an illusionary search for the truth, for the reality of things, and for love.
